Ko Soo: “Ko Soo Syndrome? I will be nice to everyone”
Thanks to SBS drama “Will it Snow For Christmas” (directed by the renowned Choe Mun Seok), it was a long-awaited white Christmas which created a Christmassy atmosphere for the drama. But for the cast and crew, they might feel differently about this Christmas.
“Deep down, I wish it would snow on Christmas. Not for the sake of the drama, but it will be great if it really does,” says Ko Soo. He laughs, “We were all busy at work in the studio this Christmas. Even the director was there.”
During the year-end holidays, Ko Soo invited some friends to his home where they delighted in a sumptuous fare prepared by him.
Even as he is going through ‘heartaches and woes” in the drama, female fans are suffering from 'Ko Soo syndrome' because of Kang Jin. This has given rise to a few flattering nicknames for Ko Soo.
Before this interview with Ko Soo, I asked a few female college students what they want to learn most about Ko Soo. Most of their answers were, “What would it be like to be married to Ko Soo?” When asked this question, a startled and confused Ko Soo replied that he is not aware of his popularity because of his busy filming schedule.
“Do I really have to answer that question?”, laughs Ko Soo. “Okay, if that’s what everyone wants to know, I will fulfill your wishes!” “Firstly, I will be very very good to her. I’m the type who will sacrifice myself by submerging in water for someone I like. And I will always be good to her quietly,” he smiles.
Ko Soo reveals that, “There are differences between Kang Jin and Ko Soo. But there are no clear differentiation between drama and reality. I have given a lot of thought to it. However, I’m still not quite sure.”
“There is no clear definition for the role. I’m the type who likes to wander. Of course I work hard to present my true self. And Kang Jin is also like that. Up till now, I’ve been immersed in each and every role that I’ve played. Just like in “Green Rose”, I survived despite being driven off the cliff. In real life, if there's someone I like, I’d love to meet her, to chat with her. I will trust her and I will support her. I think I’m that sort of guy.”
Then, for the sake of fans who would like to have a chance encounter with Ko Soo, I asked him where is his favorite restaurant or hangout. He becomes startled and speechless once again.
“There’s no particular favorite restaurant or hangout. I prefer home cooked meals and I like to enjoy my food freely and leisurely. Because I like to travel and if I do travel, I enjoy walking around and enjoying the food there.”
Looks like I have still not found the remedy for “Ko Soo syndrome”!
