“Killing two birds with one stone” is an idiom. It was double joy for me even though it was through work for the accidental encounter with Kang Dong-won and Ko Soo.

It happened 10 days ago when I was covering a production briefing at the Imperial Palace Hotel at Nonhyeon-dong. There were a lot of traffic which clogged up the street, so I used the back lane. Passing in front of a café, a huge ‘halo’ suddenly appeared before my eyes. A tall man with an unusually small face came to sight. I realized that he was movie star Kang Dong-won. On his right was another movie star Ko Soo and there was also famous Director Kim Min-shik. It was a rare occasion for me to see the 3 famous personalities in one place.

The 3 of them were having a little chat and looked like they were having fun. Kang Dong-won was laughing throughout the conversation, with Ko Soo earnestly joining in. They looked very different from what we usually see on TV.


Though the stars wore comfortable clothes, their natural features glowed. The fashionable Kang Dong-won was comfortably dressed in a black T-shirt with a black hat which hid his face. Ko Soo wore a burgundy tight fitting T-shirt which revealed his muscular frame and his firm biceps were visible whenever he moved his arms. Ko Soo also wore large sunglasses of a similar colour which made his small face even more compelling. Director Kim looked distinguished with a cap, his trademark sunglasses and a stylish beard. His brown leather jacket and blue jeans with unique red canvas shoes were prominent.


The three of them continued to talk for another 10 minutes when Director Kim took his leave. Kang and Ko Soo bowed their heads courteously at his exit. The two of them continued to laugh and talk happily before departing in their own respective cars.


Kang Dong-won and Ko Soo were cast simultaneously in the movie PSYCHIC and they had a gathering with Director Kim on that day. The 2 handsome, top blue-chip stars of the local film industry are already in harmony with each other.
