Determination to be a good actor enables him to act naturally with his eyes

We first saw Ko Soo’s sad puppy eyes  8 year ago in PIANO. Now he is a matured actor with gentle captivating eyes and strong charisma in WISFC.

Ko Soo is differentiated from other actors because of his beautiful intense eyes - eyes that could speak and emote.

People who are familiar with writer Lee Kyung Hee’s work would have noticed that actors who have portrayed the characters she has written have all managed to capture viewers’ hearts in different ways. Jang Hyuk uses his eyes while So Ji Sub his ‘nerves’.

KS: It is an honour to be compared with the two actors (shy smile). Although I have heard about my eyes a long time ago, I had been immature and inexperienced then. Now I feel that I can draw on my strengths as a matured individual. I have decided to be an actor for the longest time. After a lengthy absence from filming due to military service, I was feeling insecure about my acting. I realize the importance of expressing my emotions with a glance or a gaze but of course it has to be done naturally.

Ko Soo has portrayed the kind, gentle and strong character of Cha Kang Jin to perfection.

The boyhood episode of Cha Kang Jin is the key episode…

 

 

KS: Kang Jin has not always been a warm person. He was a teenage rebellion when young. I was attracted to the script because it was very different from what I had done. When I had first gotten the script from writer Lee Kyung Hee, I focused on his early childhood. I thought that episode 1 (Kang Jin’s childhood) was the key to the whole story - particularly the parts where deep pain was inflicted on Ji Wan’s family and when Kang Jin opened his heart to Ji Wan for the first time. Also, the part where mother Chun Hee cut off the banner for Ji Wan’s brother was an important foreshadow to tragedy. Whenever I felt anxious about my portrayal of Kang Jin, I always go back to episode 1. For example, how do I express the feeling of guilt to Ji Wan’s family? How to overcome the feeling of guilt? By going back to episode 1, I could see Kang Jin’s feelings clearly.

KS : คังจิน ไม่ใช่คนอบอุ่น เขาเป็นด็กหัวแข็ง ผมประทับใจกับบทละครที่มันต่างจากที่ผมเคยเล่นมา
เมื่อแรกที่ผมได้รับ สคริ๊ป จากนักเขียน Lee Kyung Hee ผม โฟกัส ไปที่ชิวิตวัยเด็กของเขาก่อนอื่น
ผมคิดว่า ตอนที่ 1 ( คังจินตอนเด็ก) เป็นกุญแจสำคัญของเรื่องราวทั้งหมด
หลายๆตอนที่ครอบครัว จีวาน ได้รับความเจ็บปวด และตอนที่ คัง จิน เปิดหัวใจรับ จีวาน เป็นครั้งแรก
อีกตอนคือตอนที่ แม่ ชุน ฮี ไปตัดป้าย แสดงความยินดี ของพี่ชายจีวาน ซึ่งสะท้อนใปสู่เรื่องราวของความเศร้า
เมื่อไหร่ก็ตามที่ผมสงสัย ไม่แน่ใจกับบท คังจิน ผมต้องย้อนกลับไปดูตอนที่ 1 ตัวอย่างเช่น
