Bang! The bunkers are covering with black fog. "Charge forward!" The roar of the armed forces are echoing and they’re all coming from the pit. In a long-awaited sunny winter day, they’re recording a new combat scene of ‘Gojijeon’ in Gyeongnam. They designed a set of tunnels, dug into baekamsan ridges and bunkers, with shovels and pickaxes. In the bare hill after a forest fire in early 2009, art director team needed three months to install the outdoor filming set.

‘Gojijeon’ is an original work from author Bak Sang Yeon, the scenario writer of ‘Joint Security Area JSA’ (2000). Jang Hoon, the man with megaphone, is the director. Spent 10 billion won budget, with 100 crews, sounds that it’s not going to be easy.

Actor Ko Soo, Lee Dong Wook, Sin Ha Kyun are joining the cast ensemble. The story is about the aim to expand the borders that pushed people into a battle of the hill. This unfortunate battle has given even more heavy scars of war. In order to be safe, the cinematographer team are using a hanging camera with the wire, connecting the top and bottom of the floor. They also has devised special equipment to shoot the battlefield in narrow slopes of the highlands. This Korean tragedy movie will be released in theaters in summer 2011.
